1. Glastonbury –
Undoubtedly the most famous and popular music fest. The long journey has begun since 70’s era. The whole fest is the place of free art and expression. The starting was not that so crowded and popular. The beginning was normal and as the time progress the whole festival become a symbol for contemporary music.

2. Coachella Music Festival –

3. Wacken Open Air –
This music fest considered as the biggest heavy metal festival in the world. The fest usually held on the month of August at German village Wacken – 80 kilometers northwest of Hamburg.
This festival first held in 1990 with around 800 visitors and few local bands in Germany. Things are changing quickly and now-a-days this fest draws almost 80000 crowds. This fest branded as ‘’the biggest gathering of the heavy metal genre’’.
4. Isle of Wight Festival –
The Isle of Wight Festival is a British music fest, which takes place in Newport on the Isle of Wight, UK.
This festival in the beginning staged at 1968 to 1970. After almost more than three decades the fest resumed in 2002. At the initial stage, this fest featured the likes of Jimmy Hendrix, Pink Floyd. This fest also has a huge impact on various future musical figures.
5. T in the Park –
T in the Park was a huge Scottish festival that was held annually from 1994-2016. This fest was the largest music fest in the history of the United Kingdom. This fest was generally a two day event. From the 2007, this fest turned into a three days event and eventually the fest ended up at 2016 due to some problems.
T in the Park was replaced by another festival named TRNSMT festival which takes place at the same weekend of T in the Park and at Glasgow Green.

7. Lollapalooza –
This festival originally created by Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell in 1991 when the band announced its final tour. The fest ran till 1997 and was rebirth in 2003 for the second time.
The four day annual festival held in Chicago, Illinois and draws almost 17 million people. The most significant thing about this fest is – it is not bound in one place. The whole fest expands in North America and over the year lots of cities of North America organizing the fest.
8. Reading and Leeds –
This festival takes place in two of the England cities names Reading and Leeds. This Reading festival is older than the Leeds and considered as the oldest music festival still in existence.
